How we verify Cartagena businesses
Every business in Tu Guía Cartagena has one of three levels: Selección, if we visited and checked its paperwork; Operación, if the owner confirmed prices and hours; or Not verified, for public information. The badge is never for sale.
The three levels

What we check on a visit
- The business is at the listed address and open at the listed hours.
- Chamber of Commerce registration and tax ID (RUT) for whoever runs it.
- National Tourism Registry (RNT) when it sells tourism services.
- Prices posted or confirmed in writing, with no hidden charges.
- A named person responsible for customers.
When a business loses the badge
Two confirmed complaints within 90 days send a business back to Not verified until we visit again. It also loses the badge if it changes address or owner without updating us.
Why the badge is not for sale
Tu Guía's paid plans buy visibility, such as appearing first in a category. None of them include the badge. If the badge could be bought, it would stop helping you decide.
